Assignment #24 Typing

When I was in my 6th grade class we had to play an online typing game every friday.  Also in 7th grade in my English class we had to do a timed typing test every month.

A great website to help you increase your typing speed is 10 fast fingers.  If you make an account it keeps track of your speed so it could help you increase your speed on your own paste.

Assignemnt 16 - expertise

Something I know a lot about is Professional gaming for online xbox games.  I know a lot about that because ive always loved playing competetive online games.  Like Call of Duty, Halo and Battle Field. Basically online multiplayer is about leveling up.  For every kill you get you get a certain amount of points depending on what game mode your playing.  For example in a normal game mode like team death match you get +100 points and in the search and destroy game mode you get +500 for every kill.

 

 

In online gaming theres also the pros.  You could watch them on youtube.  You could either go on their personal youtube channels or you could go to a youtube channel called Machinima.  Machinima is like a sponsor.  Only the pros videos are uploaded into the Machinima channel.  In order for you to get into the Machinima respawn team you have to have a certain amount of subscribers on your channel.  In other words you have to be known in the gaming community.

In Call of duty there's a clan called OpTiC.  They are one of the most known Call of Duty clans out there.  They have over 1million subscribers on youtube.  They are the ones that basically started the whole clan thing on Call of Duty.  Once they were getting known other people were starting their own clans.  Now theres many clans in Call of Duty.  The most known ones are: OpTiC, Faze, Obey and m40A3. 

Online gaming is something very fun but addicting.  You could spend hours and hours just playing xbox or ps3.  Gaming is something you could do to release stress.  You wont get the full experience until you play with some friends, it makes it even better.

Assignment #13 My favorite movie

  My favorite movie is zombie land.  Its my favorite movie because I've always liked zombie and comedy movies.  Zombie land has both of those. I also really like zombie land because the actors did a great job acting.  I like the fact that the movie ended at an amusement park.
  All the actors did an amazing job acting out their parts.  Through out the movie their was many sad, happy and funny situations.  In each situation they make it seem like if that's really their mood. Like if they aren't acting and thatch really how they feel.
  I really like the fact that the movie ended at a amusement park.  I thought they were going to find a safe town and the movie was just going to end.  That's how most zombie movies end like.

Assignment #39 internet research

  Gmo's are genetically modified organisms. Animals created by combining different DNA from different species of plants and animals.  Monsanto is a corporation that likes to combine animal and plant DNA's so they could form something new.

  I think GMO's aren't necessary because theres no need to mix up different species of animals.  Monsanto should just let the animals live their traditional normal life.  I also think GMO's are bad because they dont let crops grow naturally.  In this website they talk about how GMO's are good and bad.

 
 

Assignment #26 critical film review

  The story is about 4 friends trying to survive a zombie epidemic.   My overall opinion of the film is that its a really great film.
  My favorite character in the movies has to be Tallahassee. He's my favorite character because he plays his role well.  For example, he acts really tough, with no emotion in the film.  But there was times when he acted pretty depressed and could actually pull it off.  In other movies when the character has to act happy and sad throughout the movie most of the time they cant pull it off.
  Something else I liked about the movie is the story line.  I really liked the story line because theres no other zombie movie with as much humor as Zombie Land.  The story line is really interesting because one of the main characters Columbus has a different destination at the begging but at the end he finds himself at a amusement park.
  Something else I really liked was the main setting.  They traveled to so many places but I never imagined them to end up in a amusement park.  Most zombie movies just end at a graveyard or most of the time the characters just end up finding a safe town.  I really recommend Zombie Land. I give it a 10/10.

Assignment #25 Pop Culture

One of my favorite Tv shows is 1,000 ways to die.  I like it because theres so many possible ways you could die that I didn't even know of. Its really interesting to watch because so many people have died of ways that I didn't even think were possible. For example, once a snake got inside of someones air bent and the snake was covering up the pathway so carbon monoxide got produced, knocking out the snake and killing the lady inside.

Another way someone has died is by jumping on his bed while a window was open and accidentally jumping to hard causing him to fall off the open window.

I think smoking tobacco isn't good for you.  In my opinion I think they should make smoking tobacco illegal because its killing lots of people everyday.  People who smoke know that the cigarette is killing them so I guess its all on them if they want to smoke. I don't think theres a really good reason why anybody should start smoking.  Theres many other ways to release stress.  You don't have to depend on cigars to release your stress.  Honestly smoking isn't doing any good to anyone.  I really don't see a reason why it shouldn't be illegal.

Free choice

For the free choice I'm going to write about 4th of july.  4th of july is in about 2 months or so.  4th of July is a really great day to get with family and just have fun.  You could have a BBQ or go to a park and see all the fireworks go off.  You could also just stay home if you want to.

The fireworks here in california are pretty cool to watch.  Even though theres no bottle rockets or such. Some fireworks could be really expensive and some could be pretty cheap.  The expensive ones are normally the fountains and the cheaper ones are normally the fire crackers. 

I personally don't like buying fireworks but every now and then I do.  It's pretty interesting to watch fireworks go off.  Hopefully they allow bottle rockets in California one day. I don't think that would be any time soon though.

assignment #19 being charitable

The charity i'm choosing is called children of the fallen soldiers.  This charity gives all the support a child who lost their father in war needs.  They try to help the children accomplish their goals.

This charity is important to me because theres many children who are left without fathers because they passed away serving their country.  So in that case the mother of the child has to work even more so they cant meet their needs.  But what this charity does is help the mother out so she wont have to work as much.

This charity is important to me because I've seen how single mothers have to struggle in order to meet their families needs.  I think its a really great thing what this charity does.  It's great that they're giving back to the families who have lost a loved one while fighting for our country.

Assignment #18 - bucket list

One of the main things I want to do before I die is go on a hot air ballon ride. It looks very fun and interesting.

The second thing I would want to do is graduate from columbia university. I've always been interested in that university.  it would be on of my biggest accomplishments if i graduated from their. 

The third thing I would want to do is zip lining.  It looks kind of frighting yet fun. 

The fourth thing I would want to do is learn sign language.  Ever since I 

was young I wanted to learn sign language. 

The final thing I would want to do before I die is travel all 50 states. 

Assignment #17 - stranded

If I were to get stranded on an island, one of the things I would like to have is a fishing rod.  I would want a fishing rod because I would be able to catch fish so it would be easier to obtain food.  I wouldn't have to go deep into the island and look for food.

Another object I would like to have is a small mirror.  A mirror would help me get rescued because during the day it could reflect sunlight, so any helicopters passing by would see me.  I think thats a better be way of getting rescued instead of starting a fire.

The final object I would like to have with me is a butane lighter.  So I could start a fire to keep warm also so I could cook the fish I catch.  Another important reason I would want to have a butane lighter is so I could boil ocean water and be able to drink it.

Dream Job

When I get older I want to become a structural engineer.  A structural engineer is a engineer that does the blue print of the building.  He's the one that basically designs the structure.

I've been wanting to become a structural engineer since 7th grade.  I want to be able to design houses, schools and big buildings.  I'm really good at drawing so I think that skill will defiantly help me on drawing the blueprints.  I'm also pretty good at math. So that will also help me in being a good structural engineer.

Engineer is a really hard job to do.  But it pays off.  In some area they get paid up too 100k a year, you have to be really experienced in that field of course.  Straight out of the university some structural engineers could get payed 40 - 60k.  Which is pretty good for people starting in that field. 

Becoming a structural engineer is my main goal I really want to accomplish.
